Vintage Gillette 3 Piece, Open Long Comb, Ball End, De Safety Razor

This is a Gillette 3 Piece, ball end, double edged safety razor. The safety bar has an open long comb design. The only stamping on this razor is on the underside of the base plat, as can be seen, the Gillette logo & the words MADE IN USA. It was manufactured at some unknown time, anytime between 1929 and 1941. The slotted base plat and ribbed top cap were an improvement which started in 1929 from my understanding. These model razors are very difficult to "date" after they become separated from their respective carrying case. This razor is in fact gold plated and does have the hollow barrel handle it survived with, and yes there are the two (tell-tale, light cracks) in this barreled handle. See the photos. Some have said these handles were over tightened the first time they were used, causing these light cracks. Otherwise, considering its age, this razor remains an extremely nice example and is in excellent condition. It does show minor plating loss. This razor has been cleaned, sanitized and inspected. It could be used as intended or could be considered for collector grade. Please look at all of the photos and judge for yourself. Thank you for looking.
